Yes, this happens on my Laptop (Compaq Presario 1720 US) with 8 Meg of ATI
Radeon Mobility.

Has anyone else encountered these problems?
 Any solutions?

So you are not all that alone. Some solace I have also witnessed other
kind of bizzare things. Initially, the list memebers mentioned it being
the lack of enuf Vram but then i recenetly tested 16 Meg ATI Radeon
Mobility on a better specs laptop and the results are identical (there are
problems even when running at 640x480 resolution). After all lot of
initial efforts to get the thing to work I had to give up not knowning
what else to do. Ummm, hope things get resolved in future releases.

Anyway, keep up the good job :)

I get a weird smearing effect when I minimize windows in Enlightenment (using
a built-in minimize animation) with my radeon 8500. I am using the linux
binaries from XFree, version 4.2.0. I'd like to show a screenshot, but
ksnapshot doesn't seem to be capable to take a shot of it, in fact it hung my
X server for a while.
