Sorry did not work..

Programs seems to have right locale (they display messages in proper lang
etc).

It looks like keymap or smthg is wrong. When i run xev, and pres ALT:

KeyRelease event, serial 27, synthetic NO, window 0x141,
root 0x3a, subw 0x0, time 990954769, (666,490), root:(670,510),
state 0x8, keycode 113 (keysym 0xffea, Alt_R), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 characters: ""

It should be Meta or smthg right? I use RALT to enter iso8859-2 chars..

Make sure you're running the clients in the right locale. Note that
XTerm itself must run in the right locale, not only the shell.

For example, you could try:

  LC_ALL=pl_PL xterm &

If you get no complaints from Xlib, you should be able to write about
wisdom in Polish.

[Xpert]Some sugestions please

2002-09-11 Thread Mariusz Gniazdowski

Hi.
I installed RH7.3 without thrid cd, so i did not configure it to use Polish
language. Now i set up locale, console font etc, so on console im able to
use iso8859-2. I have problem with XFree: i can see latin-2 chars but i
cant enter them.

Things i do:

1. XF86Config-4:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "keyboard"
Option "AutoRepeat""250 30"

Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "pl"
EndSection

2. I installed iso8859-2 fonts.

Im curious what can i omit? What else in XFree86 suits for using other than
iso8859-1 encodings ?
