I try to achieve a subset of what you want: simply getting the TVout working with X :o). Using atitvout (http://www.stud.uni-hamburg.de/users/lennart/projects/atitvout/) I was able to see the Linux console on my TV, but with X I only get gibberish. It seems to me that the ATI card (or driver) can't (or doesn't want) to use the 13.odd MHz dotclock that's required for PAL TVs. Maybe it's possible to let the card display each pixel twice (I'm not looking for Doublescan == each line twice) thus effectively halving the dotclock and then use 27.something for the dotclock value... Can anybody out there give me some hints? [Xpert]TV-out on ATI Radeon 7500 QW
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm new to this area so if it's an FAQ, please point me to it. Problem is: I want to run dualheaded config on my Linux (RH 8.0/XFree 4.2.0) using Radeon 7500 + Monitor and TV. Currently situation looks like: I've figured out how to configure X-Windows so when I have TV plugged in my PC X-Windows still start up but, nothing more than that. Looking over the web doesn't doesn't give me much - most of solutions are either for dual-_monitor_ systems or nVidia-based. Figured out modelines for TV - still doesn't work. Maybe, somebody has sample XF86Config? Or nice documentation will be ok. - -- Dmitry Makovey Web Systems Administrator Athabasca University (780) 675-6245 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQE9oGeCyDrVuGfS98QRAq2tAJ4nPiHCm8fgFmpH4zQ3zonKc/Kf/gCgsx5I Yvz8/7/i9eEYCdekia78d/o= =GBu0 -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ This communication is intended for the use of the recipient to whom it is addressed, and may contain confidential, personal, and or privileged information.
