For shure, I could send the actual settings, but it seems, I have all the standard-settings as ist is after installing vlc. Are there some special-settings needed for that matroska ? Matroska is a container, the video could be in almost any format. That is probably the problem - the video may be in a format that you don't have codecs for. 1) from a terminal, run mediainfo and look for the video codec used for the video. You can also find this from vlc "Tools => Codecs". 2) you can also try running mpv from the command line and see what it says - is it able to play the video? does it complain (in the terminal) about not being able to play the video stream, or missing streams, or something else? Basically, we need to find out what sort of video is in the matroska container, so we can figure out next steps. -- Chris Spackman (he / him) ch...@osugisakae.com ESL Coordinator The Graham Family of Schools ESL Instructor Columbus State Community College Japan Exchange and Teaching Program Wajima, Ishikawa 1995-1998 Linux user since 1998 Linux User #137532 -- xubuntu-users mailing list xubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/xubuntu-users

hi, yes I have installed all the codecs and extras, which was recommended on some Websites I've found by google and metager, as well in some forums from vlc. Maybe, there are some settings needed for getting running matroskas in vlc ? For shure, I could send the actual settings, but it seems, I have all the standard-settings as ist is after installing vlc. Are there some special-settings needed for that matroska ? bye hans Am Montag, den 05.10.2020, 08:58 +1300 schrieb Alex Johns: > On 5/10/20 8:31 am, Hans Schneidhofer wrote: > > hi list, > > > > I can hear the tone (music) but can NOT see the Video. > > How can I see the pictures i.e the Video ? > > > > Do I have to make some settings in VLC, so I can see the pictures ? > > > > My installed linux is : > > > > Linux 5.4.0-48-generic #52-Ubuntu SMP Thu Sep 10 10:58:49 UTC 2020 > > x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux > > Processor is a AMD X4 > > 8GB RAM > > Graphic-card : AMD Opal XT [Radeon R7 M265/M365X/M465] > > > > Hope, anybody can help ? > > > > bye hans > > > > > Have you installed or the video codecs? > > also Xubuntu extras from the repository > > -- xubuntu-users mailing list xubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/xubuntu-users
