[Yade-users] [Question #680130]: reconstructed 3D volume to DEM
New question #680130 on Yade: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/680130 Hi All, My question might be off but its related to Yade. I'm trying to model a porous media that is very heterogeneous random pore shapes. I have a real sample that I scanned in X-ray computed tomography and obtained a stack of 2D images then using image processing, I reconstructed a 3D volume of the sample as seen in this image (https://drive.google.com/open?id=12f0BrIsHsDJhfR6nzwUcNXa9VxTeZQZV). Do you think its possible to convert this 3D model to an STL or GTS file and import it to Yade then fill the solid part of the volume by spheres? The reason I want to do this is to get a volume that has the exact same pore structure as the real sample while the solid is filled with spheres and I can run DEM analysis in Yade. I'm not sure if this idea is realistic, so please give me some recommendations or if you have other suggestions please let me know. Re: [Yade-users] [Question #679543]: Is class `Bo1_Cylinder_Aabb` to be actually used?
Question #679543 on Yade changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/679543 Status: Open => Answered Bruno Chareyre proposed the following answer: Hi guys, sorry to be late. Bo1_Cylinder_Aabb exists because the shape Cylinder (not chained) exists. Arguably there is no example script for it but I once found a paper about simulating capsules which used it (I can't find it now though). Re: [Yade-users] [Question #679750]: Omega output with Debug mode?
Question #679750 on Yade changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/679750 Status: Answered => Solved Luc OGER confirmed that the question is solved: I finally founded the problem about the DEBUG mode: after testing so many runs of the yade in the debug mode, the /tmp folder was saturated and no more space was available to create a new /tmp/yade-TzyaFx/tmp-0 or similar directories.. sorry for the waste ofyour time for my own mystake!! -- You received this question notification because your team yade-users is an answer contact for Yade. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~yade-users Post to : yade-users@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~yade-users More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
Re: [Yade-users] [Question #679808]: rigid boundaries
Question #679808 on Yade changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/679808 Status: Open => Answered Jérôme Duriez proposed the following answer: Hi, YADE bodies serving as rigid boundaries are typically of Box [*] or Facet [**] shapes. Using collection of Facets, you should be able to define boundaries with any shape you like, it is even possible to define horses !
