It must be an extremely
subtle correction. I just can’t hear the difference going back and
fourth. What this recording doe’s have is the unmistakable sound curve of
a recording that was recorded with Dolby Noise reduction on and then played
back with it off. This enhances the high end in a somewhat unnatural way and I
think can’t be fixed properly with digital effects. It could probably be addressed
in some manner though. Unfortunately they didn’t do this at all. This is
a common problem with tapes being digitized from that era. The enhancement of
the high end is meant to be removed along with the his. That’s what it
