How does GAJ open that? Also what value would you give origin(aka
dirname) there?

This is a feature request, please reassign wherever you see fit :-)

Currently recent files are tracked as items. Recent directories would also be
useful to track.

E.g. I edit files in geany, compile code that produce an executable that need
to be debugged in Nemiver. When Nemiver is opened it would save a lot of time
if the directory was available under a recent directories heading somewhere.

Thanks,
Conrad

[Zeitgeist] [Bug 592339] Re: Tracking recent directories

2010-06-14 Thread Mikkel Kamstrup Erlandsen
How GAJ handles that is up to GAJ. How about the tel: URI scheme how
does it handle that? ;-) If GAJ can not meaningfully handle some data it
should probably not go there (which is also how it works now i believe).
If I recall correctly though, there is a way to register a handler for
particular URI schemes within Gnome, but I can't recall the details.
Perhaps GAJ might be able to do gnome.has_handler (weird_uri)... Or
maybe it's just mimetypes...

With regards to the origin, that would depend a bit on the
circumstances. When you are actually acquiring the e-book it should
probably be a URL for the provider. If you are simply reading it it
could be some URI native to the e-book reader on which collection you
have it stored in.
