Cognos / BI Architect
Location: Denver, CO
Est. Duration: 6 months
The Business Intelligence Architect will guide the strategic design,
development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions. Client
is looking for a Business Intelligence Architect who will be able to Provide
the overall reporting solution foundation for development and implementation
for data reporting, modeling, and analysis of a data warehouse. Responsible
to architect data model that supports reporting solution that is flexible,
user friendly and performs well.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 yrs Architecting business intelligence related experience,
with complex data warehouses, business intelligence tools, and systems-
Expert knowledge of BI Standards, Processes, Architecture and Tools,
Business Objects such as :
o Identify risks in proposed designs
o Establish practices to ensure data quality and perform quality reviews of
framework manager and data models
o Provide oversight and governance of BI report performance
• *Must have architected Cognos 8* in the Business Intelligence / Data
Warehouse field (especially in Marketing functional area)
o Prior experience in building reporting solution for large marketing
databases { data modeling and data architecture and analytical skills}
o Expertise with Dimensional Modeling techniques and best practices
required.
o Responsible for developing and maintaining Framework Manager models;
Responsible for tuning and§ optimization of the reporting solution.
Write detailed technical§ specifications and implement.
= Work with report developers, data modelers and business analysts to ensure
the BI functional infrastructure meets the design and delivery needs of the
business projects.
• Integrate Cognos with other BI and application platforms used internally.
o Provide training, support, and best practices for Adhoc Query users and
Report Author
o Mentor/coach in the writing of reports and general use.
•Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
•Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective
communicator
•Good writing skills and ability to multi task in the support of this
project.
