The incumbent is also responsible for researching and certifying new database technologies, conducting database environment assessments, making recommendations, and executing corrective actions where appropriate. Candidates must be technically proficient and possess good interpersonal, troubleshooting, and documentation skills, with a willingness to share information with fellow members of the *DBA* and Development Teams. We have about an equal amount of Oracle and SQL Server db's but we're bringing in more Oracle based app's now so if we are tilted in that direction that's good. Unix skills a plus. Ability to work with hardware and software equally well a definite need. Candidate will need at least 7 years, more likely 10 years of DBA type work. Needs to be able to manage self and priorities. Highly interactive, very volatile, needs to be able to bounce around on issues and problems, a real team player. May be able to work remotely part time but will likely need to be in office at Kennett Square weekly for some time.
