Yes, I will configure the DB data and archive logs under Volume Manager
control.Yes, you are right that I have configure the zone root on shared
Storage as shown above with each have their own dedicated device.I believed the
configuration is done correctly.

[zones-discuss] Zones on Netra T1

2007-08-14 Thread Neal Miskin
Hi All

I have a Netra T1 with 2 onboard NIC's. I would like to install Solaris 10 and
build two zones, one as a ftp server and one as a scp server. Is this possible
or do I need an extra NIC for the global zone?

Thanks

Nelly Boy

Neal,

You will be all set. The zones will use virtual
network interfaces from the 2 physical interfaces of the
global.

I have built the same thing with one nic card, and have had no problems
except it works great. I also have enable a third zone as a DNS server.

[zones-discuss] RFE: allow prctl from global zone to affect local zone projects

2007-08-14 Thread Alexander Kolbasov
IMO it would be nice to allow global zone administrator to issue prctl
commands directly to change project resource control within a local zone. The
prctl command allows passing both zone and project IDs so prctl should know
what is the project namespace. This will alleviate the need to zlogin to a
zone to change its resource controls.
