I would
like to have each user having, either, their own Zope Server

Alternatively, as multiple Zope Servers on one machine will be quite a
resource eater, (probably 20 main users) is it possible to have just one
Zope Server and multiple instances of the database/CMF/Plone for the
users? All user instances and content including the database entries
would need to be accounted for in and installed in their own home
directories to allow us to control and manage each user or groups
bandwidth and quota's etc etc.
Hi Russ,
You didn't mention platform, but conceptually this windows tutorial may
help with your solution regardless of your platform. I set up something
similar to his suggestion, running multiple instance of Plone on the same
Zope service, so that each instance of Plone can have their own Products
directory. This was initially done because CMFBoard wouldn't run with
PloneArticle, but we are finding it nice to have different instances for
various web site groupings.
Anyway, here is the tutorial:

Hope it helps, if you have more questions, please let me know.

Re: [Zope] [Win XP] Installation problems

I have some troubles to install
Zope on my Windows XP Home Edition operating

The installation procedure went on without any problems but whenever I
tried to start the Zope server, either in Console or as
an instance, the server would not run. There was simply a window
blinking up for a couple of milliseconds (so that I was not able to read
the message) - and that was it - but no process was running. Is there any
specific problem, e.g. caused by the operating system (WIN XP HOME
EDITION), known (the registry, for instance) - or do you have any
idea of the possible problem? I hope the prob is not too trivial to be
answered.
Are you running Plone or just straight Zope? I have both, and here is
what I would do, in case it is helpful. If you running straight Zope I'm
not sure the approach.

-Open the command prompt and go to the bin directory of your Plone
instance. I.E: C:\Plone 2\Data\bin
-type in runzope
-this will try to start Zope but will not close when done. You can then
see any errors that you are getting and try to resolve them.
Hope this help,
Eric
