[Zope-CMF] Re: CMF 1.6.1 beta cycle this coming week
Hi Jens! Jens Vagelpohl wrote: Plone 2.5 is coming out soon and I was asked to cut a CMF 1.6.1 release. However, to preserve sanity, I will do a beta first, as always. This beta will be cut tomorrow, with the final version shipping a week from now. I can't see any important fixes on the 1.6 branch since the 1.6.0 release. And the branch still includes a pre-1.1 version of GenericSetup. Don't know who cares about updating the 1.6 branch to a newer version of GenericSetup. But I guess 1.6.1 should at least include the tagged version of GenericSetup 1.1. BTW: Next week I plan to land ZCML support and non-Products package support for registering profiles. Don't know if new features like that should be shipped with CMF 1.6 or if we need a maintenance branch for GenericSetup 1.1. Important or not, there were changes and I don't see a problem giving the Plone guys the latest and greatest from the branch for Plone 2.5. Don't know who cares about updating the 1.6 branch to a newer version of GenericSetup. But I guess 1.6.1 should at least include the tagged version of GenericSetup 1.1. See my other email. I tried and failed due to a checkin you made ;) BTW: Next week I plan to land ZCML support and non-Products package support for registering profiles. I'd love to ship as many features with CMF 1.6 so that Plone coders can immediately use as many of them as possible and thus ease their jump to CMF 2.x down the line. I just need GenericSetup to be compatible with Zope 2.8. jens -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (Darwin) iD8DBQFEgXPdRAx5nvEhZLIRArYZAJ0fv8pdvZcIZpS2vdczsjry7TwUtgCfepoG +dCHAiIuf7jqhGL/i+QyA6s= =r0v7 -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ Zope-CMF maillist - Zope-CMF@lists.zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-cmf See http://collector.zope.org/CMF for bug reports and feature requests

Also note that Hanno has done a lot of great work on making Plone 3.0 (which is basically just 2.5 at this point) run on CMF 2(.1?), so we're already on it. :) Martin -- You can just adapt yourself out of it... // Archipelago sprint 26/04/2006 ___ Zope-CMF maillist - Zope-CMF@lists.zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-cmf See http://collector.zope.org/CMF for bug reports and feature requests

Yvo jumped on it immediately and fixed it (thanks!), however, I don't think re-cutting the tag and replacing the tarball is necessary, there are few changes in GenericSetup between the trunk version I tagged and the tip of trunk. I will make sure the to put GenericSetup trunk in for CMF-1.6.1-final next Saturday. jens -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (Darwin) iD8DBQFEgX0mRAx5nvEhZLIRAuWAAJ0bOC35e5/1i7j4hXCSOcU4P6i2CQCdGXqP 28rx1eAYREPvT9YHSYtrc3g= =Sr2L -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ Zope-CMF maillist - Zope-CMF@lists.zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-cmf See http://collector.zope.org/CMF for bug reports and feature requests
