Hi,

I am looking into replacing my Stanton 500 AL styli on my Technics
1200 turntables. In the past years as a bedroom DJ, I've enjoyed
doubling up records, aggressive mixing and scratching, so, after
having tried Shure M44-7s on a friend's turntables, I now find that
Stantons don't fit my mixing needs any more.

However, I am in doubt as to whether to go for M44-7s, or perhaps
go for some Ortofons. Basically, my two main criteria are maximum
stability and minimal record wear, and price isn't really that much
of an issue.

Not that I'm on par with these guys, but what do folks like Claude
Young, Mills, and Dave Clarke swear by ? I figure that, as far as
techno jocks go, they're sort of the ones that give 1200s a serious
run for their money.

Would any of you 313 people consider things like Ortofon Qberts for
techno DJs ? Any recommendations or experiences are welcome!

Thanks in advance,
Filip
