That sounds like Latin to me, I'd even hazard a guess that it means

There are definite links with Indian Heritage in Detroit. I know Campus
Martius Park was named after a famous Indian from that time. Although, I heard
that there was disgruntlement from the Indian community at having not been
invited to the initial CMP launch festivities.

Yeah that is infamous Martin.
I even remember reading about that in The NME in Balham library, as a
kid.
I don't think anyone acquitted themselves well with that seminar and
it all made highly entertaining reading of course!
