12 minutes is the limit for a DJ cut at 33RPM, with a fixed pitch
lathe. If your track has some dynamics, a variable pitch lathe can go
up to 14 minutes. A variable pitch lathe cuts deeper for loud
passages and narrower for quiet passages.
You can cut longer records but there's a cost in output
Fact, you lose a couple of dbs when you go over that threshold, it
might sound find to the average ear, but it won't be the hottest
(loudest) cut possible.
Nine min. max per side if the record is cut at 45rpm. The facts as I
know them are straight from our the pressing plant, Archer (Detroit).

hi there. many had told me that it is a bad thing to have more then 12
minutes of music in each side of an 12". but I have at home real good 12"
silges and albuns with 2 tracks per side, inwich these tracks are longer
then 7 minutes. can anyone put some light on this metter??
