He is a sad case. I've known a few people like him over the years; they're
usually diagnosed (or undiagnosed) bipolar. In their manic phase, they're
capable of just about anything.

A couple of people have sucked me into their mania, because they started
companies and wanted me to work for them. Oddly enough the supreme
confidence of a bipolar person in their manic phase is hard to distinguish
from a sane high-tech entrepreneur; sometimes you don't find out until they
crash and stop functioning, leaving the smoking wreckage of their business
venture for others to clean up.

Dan was a special case, a DJ legend in his own mind; he was relentless. He
is the only person in the history of the 313 list to be multiply banned.
Every time I banned him he popped up with a new e-mail address, trying to
trick me into approving his subscription. I ended up having to adding a
special 'ban dan' filter to my own gmail account.

I've also blocked all e-mail from one person who is still on the 313 list,
but it was such bliss when I stopped getting his snarky attacks that I'm
having a hard time remembering who it is.
