Any 313ers/technotourists coming to Socal to see Kraftwerk, Modeselektor, MIA, Hot Chip, Linton Kwesi Johnson etc, and want to have a little afterparty in the desert? The lineup is not as great as it was in say '99, so it'd be nice to have something else to attend that weekend to make it worthwhile musically. The peak of the desert bloom is right around that weekend (April 25-27) down there, so I do recommend a visit to Joshua Tree National Park apart from the varied, sporadic attractions of Coachella (see coachella.com for line-up by day).
For those who want to host an afterparty or collaborate: we could bring down our gear (Rebeltech Soundsystem, incl. generator etc.) from our mountain stronghold up in Somewhere, California (it's between Redding and Eureka) but would prefer to rent in Socal. We'd rather do it legally than throw a renegade, to be honest, and unless most of the music is 313/Krafterk rarities/proper electro/real deep house/disco/experimental/ambient, then we'd rather not be involved. Otherwise we don't care who is actually djing (we can throw legal parties of our own on a gorgeous mountaintop every day or night of the year if we want, after all, but we don't have much of an audience (yet)). Kraftwerk plays the Sat. night (April 26th) so it would probably make the most sense to do the party after the fest shuts down that night (at midnight). It would also be preferable to use a diesel generator so we could use biodiesel, as it is nice to set an example at a public event. Let's make it happen!
