Thomas Barnette was the aleged culprit. I don't know if this was ever
confirmed. I like Tom but I don't like what he spins.
If we're gonna mention Kraftwerk, then there's no way we can avoid 'Computer
World'. In my book, it sparked the whole detroit thing.

I'll use Mike Huckaby's mix on www.frequencydetroit as an example. Have a
listen. Perhaps as music evolves, my taste evolves as well. Is there a new
sub-genre of House music in the making? Learn me.

I recently had the same question. Three modules were up for consideration.
- The new Korg ESI Electribe Rhythm Production Sampler
Never played with it but I don't think it has ROM sounds.

- The Roland SP808. Pricey, but it does it all. The D-Beam controller is dope.

Last night I popped in one of my favorite trance CD (I know) Psychcotrance I.
When it was released it was considered trance at the time. Now, I think it
would be considered more tech-house. It certainly doesn't have that cheesy
sawtooth synth sound playing nursery school chord progressions. In
After all the hubub about Alan not spinning at DEMF, you don't honestly think
he would design a shirt for it do you?

I'm certain that Derrick May didn't became didn't become to be known because of
his DJ skills. The lines between musical artist and DJ once again become
blurred.

Hands down best ever alternative radio show ever. The DJ's are very
professional and incredibly informative. They play an excellent variety of

Hi there.
I'm spinning in the Fallout Lounge at Metropol tonight.

Perhaps some of you out of towners may want to experience some of Detroit after
hours. Do any of the Europeans in particular wish to go to some of the more
rootsy, less hyped, multicultrual gigs as apposed to the 'mee toos' ravey type
places or am I off base here.

Not that he doesn't deserve any credit for his early work but the question I
have is, 'What has Mayday done lately?'. I'm sure he's is actively involved
with music but there are other Detroit artist who are obviously active and
involved with breaking new musical ground.
BTW If anyone has seen
