I don't think you'll find any Europeans on this list who would often say that, this being a mailing list about music that sprang from a city in America. There probably isn't much ground for that sort of Europe vs USA debate here. It's certainly the case that mainstream media in America is far more commercially-oriented than it is culturally-oriented, but that's becoming the case in Europe as well as the media here becomes more - well - "Americanised"...
