Just a quick one to say happy thanksgiving to our US
friends
Cheers

i checked out some vinyl over the weekend. I must have listened to a
hundred records or so. Needless to say most of them were pretty lame.
One that stood out, not enough to buy though unfortunately, was the
future beat alliance 'lumiere' on verstatile. After hours of dreary and
depressingly

I don't think it was ever released on 12, only CD.

AND - anyone know where the piano on theo parrish's 'friendly
children'
is from ? it sounds familiar. Ummm is this record meant to sound
like
this ? ? ? :^)
it sounded like one of the melodies from
Hey All. Happy New Year.
First day back. Eurrggh.
anyway,

I think it's a Herbie Hancock sample. but is it 'Magic Number' or 'Saturday
Night'?
I can't remember.

as in, it's not progressed? or it's still there if you look in the right
places?
:)

why is it no-one's really fired up about music this time of year? (or do
i speak for myself?)
robin...
I like quizzes.
as in, it's not progressed? or it's still there if you look in the right
places?
I think both for sure. a) it has progressed, and exists in different forms
- but people call it other things or genres these days. and b) that sound
does definitely still exist as 'techno' too -

-
- no, me too. must be something to do with xmas and all that
- cr*p. although,
- as of today at around 9am I kicked my ass out of this
- depression and am
- generally feeling 100% enthusiastic
Honestly..i havent been excited about music in years.
I attempted to go record shopping whilst on vacation
and found that most of the records already sounded
like ones I had. the same things being repeated over
and over again. When I have bought records over the
last couple years its been on
also just heard clips of that Metroplex Social Club (Strand) on
Puzzlebox...sounds extremely promising.
this one was out already
very good!! one of the better 313 things of last year
pretty classical detroit sound- string wise very up to octave one and galaxy
2 galaxy
Is that why it's not being pressed any more?
The first question is 'where has beautiful groovy
melodic techno gone' ?
well, I don't agree too much - it's out there.
But, some of the most beautiful deep melodic techno I have heard for years
and years (honestly) WILL be out in 2004 for sure.
Basic B*stard - Cruisin' - Ignitor Recs, springs to mind.
