Tonight's the very last Sunday edition of the Wild Kingdom. After 5 years plus in the Saturday night/Sunday morning Midnight -3AM slot, I'm moving to Friday Night 10PM-2AM PDST (GMT-8), which happens to be the time slot I had during my first extended stint on KFJC. I've got an extra hour to play with, so I'll be doing a semi-regular feature called "DJ of the Month Club, where I'll be playing sets from DJs world-wide. Anyway, tomorrow rings in the month of May, which is the Month of Mayhem" on KFJC. Since the early 80's, KFJC has set aside May for special features of all sorts. The year we have a bumper crop of some 60 specials - you can read about them at http://kfjc.org/mayhem . My new show slot will be preempted on May 6 and May 20 by a couple of specials, and I'll be hosting the 2-part special "Steel City Techno" on May 13 and May 27, so the first official Wild Kingdom in the new time slot won't happen until June 3. I'll be a busy boy all during May - check the Mayhem schedule at kfjc.org to see what I mean.

Tonight's show features a shattershot selection of vinyl from Diffusion, Kenny Larkin, Florence, Sterac, Glenn Underground, Dealer, Woody McBride, Acid Junkies, DJ Hell, and others. The last two week's sets can be viewed at http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=37884 and http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=37936 .

Limited time archives for all shows on KFJC (including this one) are available at http://www.kfjc.org/broadcast_archives/ . These are "rolling archives", available for two weeks after any given show. My shows are listed under "Goodwrench". Send comments and suggestions to i...@kfjc.org .

"The Wild Kingdom" airs on KFJC-FM 89.7, Saturday night/Sunday Morning, 12A-3A (8A-10A GMT). Potential listeners outside the San Francisco Bay area can find a webcast at http://www.kfjc.org/netcast/index.php . Present and past Wild Kingdom playlists are also archived at kfjc.org. You can also check out archived playlists from my first KFJC show "Just Desserts" that was on Fridays 10P-2A from 1992 through 1999. Archived playlists exist for that show starting from Fall 1995 to New Year's Eve 1999/2000, so you can see what what I'm up to these days is pretty much consistent with what I was up to all along.

If you do tune in (especially via the web), please take a little time to let me know your locale. I'm also interested in promo music from all over and in promoting local (San Francisco Bay area) techno-type events. If you want to do some promotion for an event, contact the KFJC promotions department at pr...@kfjc.org to arrange ticket giveaways and/or to send information for inclusion in our concert outlook. Thanks to those who have sent promo music so far.

Regards,

Richard Hester
