It could be something to do with the frequency and number of his
previous visits- I had to answer quite a few questions last week when I
was entering LA as to why I had visited the US more than 3 times in the
last year, where I had stayed the previous times, length of each stay,
purpose of each visit etc etc etc. I would imagine the problem would
mutiply exponentially if your passport had 10 or 12 Visa stamps from
previous visits
