From: Rogier Barendregt I dunno about the Utrecht recordstore you
mentioned, but
could you give me the address if you figured it out?
Utrecht:
i just know 4 second-hand shops, all on the 'oude gracht':
de plaatboef: near tivoli, on the other side of the canal about a two minute
walk southwards. has a nice jazz section, nothing special though. and a
couple of 2nd hand records upstairs.
twist-and-shout: across the canal from cinema rembrandt. downstairs is
recordstore metro. they have quite a few records on sale at the moment,
including some quality house/techno/broken-beat.
walking north from metro/twist-and-shout there's another 2nd hand store,
cd's on the groundfloor, and vinyl downstairs. nice selection of disco 12"s.
some italo, but mostly 80's pop.
da capo: walking further north is da capo. a wide variety of 80's albums for
1 euro each, and a lot of records for regular prices.
also make sure you check the sales bins in the normal recordstore. i think
most people from utrecht that look a little further than dj jean and tiesto
buy most of their records in amsterdam/rotterdam, so the quality stuff often
stays in the bins in utrecht.
