We're having a party in Manchester on Saturday 17th May. Kicks off at 10pm and finishes at a modest 2am :-( However the reason we've made this closing time sacrifice is so we can get our mitts on a REALLY nice gaff. The place is a top discovery, a beautiful old place of former glory, now largely unused. We seem to have a talent for staging events in bizarre spaces but we must be doing something right as I've no sooner mailed out to our list about us doing a party nowadays then I get mails from other promoters asking where it is and can they use it? (or not being so polite but just hi-jacking it straight away, there's a sheepish tendency with promoters and venues here, I was practically living in the newly opened Deaf Institute here last weekend with everybody and his dog migrating there).
Anyway it should make for a great do. Music will be 313 related later on but with a broad spectrum of sounds across the night (or maybe that's all 313 related as funk, disco etc. obviously are "related" ;-). Entry is free though we'd appreciate it if people throw at least £1 in the bucket on the way in to cover the cost of the rig (£2 would cover the costs!). Speaking of the rig we're excited that we should hopefully be playing on a very nice system as we have the excellent Compression Soundsystem on the case, have plenty of time to set up for once, the manager of the place seems helpful and there aren't any neighbour noise issues we know of. Must be too good to be true, some randomness will intervene. To find out where it is and get in when you get there you need an invite. Hit me back with a postal address if you'd like to come and I'll post you one out. Once you've got that just make sure you get down early enough to get in as it's looking like this could be one busy party and the venue is not big.
