just got my hands on a clean copy of the Apocalypse Now soundtrack,
and it's blowing my mind.

walter murch sound collages + dialogue from the film + copious amounts
of analog synth score....

yeah, there's the gratuitous vietnam-era rock songs (the doors' "the
end", CCR, etc.) but it's all mixed together seamlessly.

i used to be impressed with reznor's work on the "natural born
killers" soundtrack, but this predates it by about 15 years, and NBK
absolutely pales in comparison.
