I am considering purchasing an Roland 808 Groove
Sampler and was wondering if anyone can clue me in as
to whether or not $1200 is a reasonable price (brand
new).
I was also wondering which artist, Detroit in
particular, currently use 808's in their setups?
Any other feedback on the 808 would be
do you mean the sp808EX? the classic sp808 is going for about $500 new.

But while I'm writing this, I might as well give an
answer. I just purchased an sp-808 for $599 at
zzounds.com, it was a sale so I'm not sure if the
price is the same. It's not the sp-808EX, but
A TR808 I could see, a 808 Gruv Box I cannot. But then again, rumor has it
that Terrance Dixon has recorded EP's with nothing more than an MC 303, so
anything's possible.
