****TECH TIP: Protecting Your Gear*********************************
Learning to mix records, play keyboards, run live sound and produce
tracks is all well and good, but there's one thing that we
DJs and musicians always seem to learn the hard way-namely, how to
protect our gear!
The most obvious way to physically protect things like turntables,
mixers, and recording gear is to purchase protective cases and
racks. This is a relatively small investment, compared to what
you'll have to pay to fix a broken turntable or a shattered LCD on
your digital studio. Remember, you may successfully lug your gear
without cases to 100 gigs, but it only takes one careless move at
gig 101 to do some major damage. Thankfully, ProSound carries
travel cases and racks in all sizes and shapes, making it easy for
you to armor up.

Another type of protection that's often overlooked comes in the
form of surge protectors and power supplies. It goes without
