My Sonic Groove order came in about 5 days. (Minneapolis via NYC). I did e-mail ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) the day after my order just to make sure they got the info though.
After reading posts about 6 weeks ago about online reckid shopping. I decided to test the main 3 vinyl online retailors here in the states with different albeit satisfactory results. (these are in no way scientific results, just my experiences;) I had been holding out (buying records)for far too long so I ordered about 100 dollars american from each. All three orders were received timely enough. (less than a week) ======www.satelliterecords.com Pros -pretty up to date with ocassional gems (the real jazz) -it lists release dates (when that particular record came out) -listening booth plays snippets of all tracks on record with one mouse click, just like you would at the store yourself (a great feature) Cons -doesn't process until Sunday -interface a bit slow -search engine not as simple as other two ======www.groovetech.com Pros -Listen before you buy, (hit track name for 90 second sample) -what you put in basket you WILL get, if it's out of stock it will say. No more teases, no more thiking your getting something then 'ooops, it's out of stock' -cool interface with awezzome search engine, easily browsing labels while listening in separate window. -detailed info on each release (remixers, compilation info) -Speedy Delivery; My order came in 2 days!!!!! Go USPS!!!! (other two use UPS) -DEMF -Chloe signing my invoice with a heart (HI Chloe I love you!!) ha ha... I kid. -free stickers -immediate automated confirmation E-Mail -outfit seems very professional and effiicient (not unlike other two; just faster, simpler) Cons -No release dates listed -Should play snippets of RA like Satellite =======www.sonicgroove.com Pros -simple, to the point navigation -accurate descriptions by knowlegdable fellow electronic music fans/fiends (i'ma fiend) -easily the most up to date, getting plenty of everything (I got Every Dog... from em) -approximate release dates -they sell T-shirts -I think Phife dog is from Brooklyn "linden boulevard represent, represent, zent" Cons -no audio(period) All three DO have there different dis/advantages, but I'd say I'm having the best results with Groovetech If your thinking of ordering that's where i'd go. They all provide a tremendous service. Underground Slabs of Wax delivered to my froont door.......I Likes........A Lot I know I've forgotten some things, it's been a few weeks, but this seems like it may be helpful to some.
