Music may not have a color however, the business most certainly does. I
suggest you do your homework and further investigate the premises for your
own conclusions.

I believe you'll find that they don't hold much water given the fact that
the music industry in both Amercia and Europe was largely dominated by both
Italian and Jewish mafias and largely exploitative of minority
musicians/producers. This melody still lingers on my friend....

Further this is exactly what I was getting at with regard to younger folks
who think they know everything about this scene because they've hung out for
a few years

Do you or have you ever researched this subject at all before voicing a
relatively naive opinion?? Have you ever nearly lost everything or even
risked losing something for what you felt about this music?? This is what I
was speaking to. Without having sacrificed...and I do mean SACRIFICING... I
don't suppose you can even get with what I am saying hear.

Sorry but the facts are the facts. Read "The Hitmakers" (i believe that is
the name of the book) which outlines this history quite clearly.

Peace

Hi ,
can we leave colour out of it please , music doesn't have one . Try to
remember that much of the music which inspired the first wave of Detroit
electronic artists to make music , was european electronic music which was
heavily plugged by the Electrifying Mojo .
Generalisations are one of the most common traits of racism and only
add to the ignorance which is out there .
To me , yes , the guys/girls from Detroit and Chicago took it to
another level and , no , they have never been given their full credit but
neither have the likes of Cabaret Voltaire , Kraftwerk ,D.A.F.
Einsturzendeneubauten . This is not a colour thing it is a BUISINESS thing
. Just because the horrible corporate music machine , which makes its own
twisted version of musical history , is dominated by white faces doesn't
give anyone the right to generalise about all white people . It is
individuals who are responsible not whole races or even classes .
Music with depth , soul and funk has allways had a strong support in
the generally very white dominated, north of England and i can assure you
that there are a whole lot of people over here with just as much passion
and fire in their bellies as anyone , against the injustices against the
music which they know has changed the world .
I have spent 20 years supporting the music i love , but i don't need to
show my c.v. to you or anyone else , i know what i have done and SELF
RESPECT is more important . You are shouting about serving your dues , and
i don't doubt that you have , but remember that respect is given , not
taken or demanded .
Unconditional Love

Phil.

Hi everyone ,
sorry to clog up the list with this . I did mail back to Laura personally and would appreciate the same courtesy . Feel free to mail me and discuss more in depth personally but i came on this list for the music .

Phil.
