Matt Drake has been a leading force in New Zealand's flourishing underground
dance scene since co-founding Straylight, New Zealand's first ever regular
Techno night at Auckland's legendary Box nightclub, in late 1995.
Over the years Matt has developed a unique playing style and sound the
evolved increasingly towards Detriot Techno - from the sublime sounds of
Transmat to the Techno minimalism of Jeff Mills - to become New Zealand's
most sought after Techno DJ today.
In 1997 Matt co-founded Nuture Recordings, a label which recieved
international praise from the likes of Carl Craig, Andy Weatherall, and
Colin Dale.
MAtt Drake is completely dedicated to the underground sounds of Techno and
he promises only the finest of the genre when he presents his 3-hour set at
the refreshing new-look of NOX.
