NEW RELEASES
CARL CRAIG - Designer Music CD (PE 65255) (Out Aug 29, 2000)
One of the most sought after releases in the Planet E catalog, the
original
Designer Music was a limited edition vinyl 12 of some of Carl Craigs
favorite tracks, remixed himself to play exclusively in his DJ sets.
The tracks
caused such dancefloor destruction that Carl decided to press a handful
of
copies for close friends and members of the now defunct Planet E
Subscription
Service. This 12 changes hands for close to $75 in specialist shops.
Carl Craig has lent his unique and magical touch to rework some of the
worlds most innovative artists, electronic or otherwise. He has become
a
legend in the world of remixing, but many of the gems that he has
created
have become hard to find and were only released in some countries.
Planet E brings you Designer Music, Vol.1, the first collection of some
of these timeless moments all on one CD. Carl Craig putting his bug in
your
bass bins with classic remixes for acts like Incognito and
under-acknowledged
key cuts by Ron Trent, Telex and Alexander Robotnik.
DESIGNER MUSIC, Vol. 1 reveals Carl Craig's very special ability to
recontextualize
and reimagine music in ways that expand the vision of the originals and
shows a
different thread running through the body of Craig's work.

and tribal percussion, Ibex continues Planet Es commitment to quality
electronic dancefloor sounds.
The inclusion of Bok Choy on Planet Es highly limited WMC 12 sampler
introduced the Worlds
Finest DJs to Ibex and the response was ecstatic, eliciting raves from
Josh Wink, Gilbr (Versatile, Paris),
Doc Martin, Jazzanova, Rainer Truby, Gilles Peterson, and other
influential deck masters.
