It's finally official! The 1st ever Scandinavian Electronic music festival is about to take place in Turku Finland. During the two days of the festivities KONEISTO will take a nice look at Scandinavian and international electronic music scenes. In simple words Koneisto will cover all what's hot in the genre; from D&B to trance and from hip hop to house. Top line-up from UK, Canada, Sweden, Spain, Germany and Finland Headliners for first Koneisto festival (August 4-5) come from UK, Canada, Sweden, Spain, Germany and Finland. Of the ever-so-trendish Finnish names Bomfunk MC's (now extremely hot with hit single "Freestyler" in most of the European countries and top clubs), Skillsters, Pan Sonic (Mute Records), Jimi Tenor (Warp), JS16 (the guy behind Bomfunks!), Giant Robot, Kemopetrol, Op:l Bastards, Rinneradio, Jori Hulkkonen (F-Communications) and DJ Sasse are already confirmed. International line-up includes Bentley Rhythm Ace (UK), Richie Hawtin a.k.a. Plastikman (CAN), Luke Slater (UK), Scratchaholics (SWE), Gaetek (GER), Gadgets (GER), Lena Popova (RUS), Frank Lorber (GER), Jose Padilla (Ibiza), James Lawson (UK), Palace Of Pleasure (NOR), Sensien (BEL) and Aivar Tonso (EST) just to name but a few. 10 000 people expected first year Koneisto takes place in Turku Finland in the Kupittaa region. The Festival site has a capacity of 15 000 people. Festival site consists of Kupittaa Sportshall, open-air swimming stadium and Adventure Park. Sportshall alone has a capacity of 4000 people. Koneisto is organised by Turku-based Koneisto Production OY. Organisers are expecting 10 000 visitors the year 2000.
