all the kdj one sided pressings have been repressed of late and you should
be able to get hold of it. i heard it when it was first out and passed it
over coz it didn't sound so great *ducks* ;) ahh well...
AFAIK 'Shades of Jae' wasn't a limited release. Although, newer pressing do
have a different track listing.
1st pressing:
side-a (KDJ 21 a) 'Shades of Jae' parts 1 & 2
side-b (KDJ 21 b) 'The Set Up'
This is a downtempo track that plays at 45rpm and has samples from 808
State's 'Cobra Bora'. Just after the start it breaks down into a speech that
talks about "the set up".
later pressings:
side-a (KDJ 21 a) 'Shades of Jae' parts 1 & 2
side-b (KDJ 23 b) untitled
Although it has the original b-side label, this is a new untitled track that
plays at 33rpm... it has a minimal 4-on-the-floor arrangement, a side-stick
sample keeping time, synth-horn samples at the start and end (which sound
like they're lifted from Urban Tribe's
'Peacemakers') and a two-note piano riff.
KDJ 23-aa appears on the full release of 'The Thief that Stole My Sad
Days... Ya Blessin' Me' 12" (with KDJ 25-a on the flip).
cheers
