I don’t think you have to create duplicate copies of 4D. I an not on Windows but have a client who is on Windows 10 and he is able to have multiple instances of the same 4D client running at the same time on the same machine, each connected to different 4D servers. John > On Apr 2, 2020, at

You can duplicate the folder, but you have to rename the executable too ... so 4D.exe becomes 4D-A.exe and 4D-B.exe ... something unique. I also create a folder called 'clientLocal' next to the executable for all the plugins, components, resources, etc. On windows 10, I had to change the security

Unfortunately the client local folder option no longer works with version 17R6 onwards there are some posts from me on the 4D forums about this. 4D client now automatically creates a folder within the users profile utilising the IP address and then ID. Is a real nuisance if you're doing web d

I’ve found it to be any way you want it. It’s like a 4D Easter Egg…if this folder is present next to the application (.exe or .app) then that’s where it puts its cache folder instead of in the normal place. It makes it easy to have a copy of 4D set aside specifically for connecting to 1 server
