The ebuild should depend on virtual/libc. Gentoo has deprecated
virtual/glibc.

A workaround is to add the following line to /etc/portage/profile/virtuals
virtual/glibc sys-libs/glibc

I am using glibc-2.3.5-r1 on a 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 kernel
