It was not a problem to find and install the program. But, when I started
the compression, the process started but did not ended at all, even when I
waited for as long as 10 minutes. The file in question was a .wav file and I
had selected 'mp3' in the export format option.

starts giving some clumsy errors if you don't use that for a long time.
