Hi,

I am a G-NIITian. I am partially sighted (due to RP) and had trouble
enrolling for G-NIIT. Initially I was enrolled to D-NIIT which is a course
that excludes Professional Practice. The H O D faced me with a challenge to
perform well in the first semester and the reward would be an automatic
upgrade to G-NIIT. I accepted the challenge and topped my batch of 30. The H
O D kept her promise and I was enrolled to G-NIIT.

At that time, I was not aware of screen-readers and was hardly in touch with
the VI community. I could not read the presentations on the projector and
missed faculty demonstrations at times due to unclear screen
resolution/settings. I used to get doubts cleared from friends in the batch
and machine room faculties.

Let me know if you feel I can be of help communicating with the H O D of the
center you wish to join.

Best Regards,
Zujar...

Hi there, neha,
Its surely more of a problem with the ill attitudes that people have
regarding persons with disabilities, and I tell you, you're  not alone
to this fold of victims, there are many out here, including me.
First, in my humble advise, don't lose hopes, its just a part of the
whole process that'll make you more stronger towards fighting for your
rights.
May it be any organisation, such an  illogical discrimination can
never be tolerated, and i'd like to asure that I'm there with you to
get is rectified.

About what can we do:

1.    can you obtain the name and email ID of H O  D? if yes, we can
write him/her personally and see if that can take this forward in
positive direction.

2.    I'm supposing that the NIIT Hyderabad must be having  an email ID
for their professional communication, and that should  be easier to
acquire. Send your concern there, and see if something moves.

3.    your case reminds me my struggles of getting through these
institutes, and the experience I've  drawn  after fights might help
you too. There are a number of other  ways, and I guess I can even use
some of my personal connections here and there in that organisation to
get you through.
Let's talk more about this off the list, you can call me anytime and
discuss about it.
