I am facing this problem quite recently. Moreover, it does not always behave
such.
I am sure if I downgrade to jaws 6, I can avoid this problem for good. Even

If you format your laptop hard drive. and do not use the in built system
recovery utility to install programs to the laptop, rather use an external
windows CD. Do you use some laptop specific settings? I am concerned with
hotkeys combined with function key.
