A good move by AICB. Other organizations should also go ahead with
their questions, so that due representation of PWDs may be ensured.
Hope to read the response of the Government as well.
Best of Luck.

As per my knowledge, at very first time, any RTI application is sent to
First Public Information Officer. Here, it is not followed up.
Therefore, it should be sent again by correcting the basic error.

Following the point made by Kanchan, I think that somebody from AICB
may file the same application once again, but this time not on behalf
of an organization, rather in the name of that individual. This person
should not be the same, who signed the earlier application. I do not
sea any legal hephazard in such a step, though law experts like
Kanchan and Subhash Vashishth would know better.

Hi every one,
I echo what Kanchan has suggested as a ground rule. However, AICB's
experience has been that it has received replies from all other quarters
whenever it applied for information under RTI, though a few states in north
east have responded in negative to the applications filed by Organisations
representing a group of persons.

But it is advised that the users should always fill the name of a person
rather than name of organisation against the column "Name of the Applicant".
The person can use the name of the organisation and its address in the
address column.

Also it is advised not to write the RTI application on the organisation
letter pad. Just write on a simple A-4 size paper.Hope this clears the
issue.

Hello Kanchan,

Are you sure only individuals can apply under RTI? We filed several
applications on behalf of our organisation and we were not refused at least
on this ground.

Moreover, since the letter is being signed by some official of AICB and it
may be treated as an application by an individual in his / her official
capacity. What do you suggest? We honour your opinion.

With Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.

Disabled sportspersons protest outside sports ministry
PTI
Wednesday, May 12, 2010 18:59 IST
New Delhi: Disabled sportspersons today staged a protest outside the
sports ministry here alleging corruption in the management of disability
sport.
They claimed sports minister MS Gill promised them that he will appoint
a two member committee to probe into alleged irregularities in the
Paralympics Committee of India (PCI) and investigate further before
taking any major step.

A number of disabled sportsmen and activists led by Disabled Rights
Group (DRG) convener Javed Abidi staged the protest and later met Gill
at his residence.

Abidi said, "It is disappointing to see that even after receiving
hundreds of complaints from disabled athletes, the minister is not
convinced of the deep rooted corruption that exists between the
officials of the sports ministry and PCI."

These athletes, who aim to participate in the Commonwealth Games, have
been complaining about no training, leaving them doubtful about India's
performance in disability sports during the games.

The upcoming Commonwealth Games will showcase as many as 15 disability
sporting events, from athletics to swimming to table tennis. Out of
these 15, India is not participating in 4 sporting events.

"Although we do not have much time to lose, we will wait for the
minister to respond and will take our next step only after a week," said
Abidi.

Dear all,
One visually impaired public sector employee is being denied car allowance on the grounds that it is only given for self driven cars. If anyone has any circular which clarifies this and which could be used for claiming car allowance by visually impaired employees then please forward it to me at the earliest.
This is a special request to RBI/Banks/P S U staff on the list.

Dear Deapak!

You don't have to arrange your own scribe, SSC will make the
arrangements itself. What you have to do is to keep black and blue
ball pens and one any thing you feel needful in writing a paper. Just
reach on time so that SSC people can doo the needful.

That's all.
