But advise your friend to contact the airline in advance. She may
still get required assistance, but according to international law,
airlines need to be notified 48 hours in advance and as a government
owned airline, air india is a bit crazy at times.

In general, Prior to travelling / while booking the ticket, person
must request accomodation. Certainly, it is mandatory for the
respective airlines to provide requested accomodation for the
disabled individuals.

one of my friend had face same problem then he called to the
service provider and they had provide him assistant from the entry
of the airport gate
and at the destination airport also
i think there is some guied line for all the airlines for person
with disability but i dont have it
