Career Centric Computer Training; Basic Computer Training for Visually Impaired by Divya Jyothi
This is an initiative from Divya Jyothi team towards giving quality computer training for visually impaired people. Main goal of this course is to increase the candidate’s knowledge on Computer Basics and making them efficient in using computers independently. This will increase the employment opportunities, betterment of existing job, and for higher studies. The entire computer training course syllabus is covered as per the NIELIT (National Institute of Information and Electronic Technology) Regional Center of your State and in the year of end BCC certificate will be issued by NIELIT. The course duration is One Year starting from 20th June 2016. Contents • Keyboard orientation and Typing practice with software “Talking Typer” • Basics of Software, Hardware and Network • Introduction to Assistive technologies for visually impaired. • Basic concepts such as desktop, taskbar, menus, Editing, Dialog box, File/Folder management etc… • Screen readers, NVDA/JAWS settings and help • MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook • Internet- Email, online chat, internet calling, social networking, reading websites, online file transfer etc… • Touch Screen Cell phone and Tab orientation and Typing practice with talk back screen reader. • DAISY training with fs reader and Amis software. Material Used: I. Computers with II. Windows7 operating system and III. Office 2007, IV. NVDA/JAWS V. Talking Typer VI. Self-paced exercises for each concept. VII. Test for final assessment. VIII. Designed Curriculum with computer concepts and employment aspects. IX. Tactile Diagrams Divya Jyothi team provides Communication Skills training Objectives: • Overcome the Fear of Public Speaking • Develop Effective Presentation Skills • Acquire Influential Communication Skills • Learn Influential Business Writing • Give Structure & Meaning to Presentations • Design Effective, Audience Captivating Presentations • Learn Business Etiquettes Divya Jyothi team provides Mobility orientation training Objectives: • The mobility program covers the rules of walking independently in public using a cane. • Basic hygiene habits and personal management techniques are taught through repetition and process. Students are taught to manage their medication, groom themselves, tell time, identify currency, clothes and more. • Moving about in a room. • Negotiating steps and escalators. • Commuting in a bus and learning techniques to map and memorize routes and layouts. Faculty: Many eminent personalities in professional training, skills development, and employment counseling would be involved in guiding and assisting the candidates during the training program. Through computer literacy and spoken English training, the course aims to enhance the candidate's employment prospects, all round development. Course Details:- Timings: 9:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday-Saturday Date: Monday, 20th June 2016 Seats: 15 Place: Divya Jyothi Who are eligible? Any visually impaired person, who’s educational qualification should be 10th pass and above. Students who are pursuing their education after SSLC in regular colleges, who are pursuing correspondence course, as well as students Who have completed their education is all eligible for this course. Students, who are going to regular colleges, can also be benefitted along with their education. Who want to use computer skills for their education/employment, and having good communication English, and basic knowledge of mathematics? Joining Procedure: Candidates have to attend the evaluation test before the training starts, Candidates will be considered as eligible only if they pass the evaluation tests. Evaluation can also be done online or over the phone for out station candidates. Once they pass the evaluation test: Candidates have to register in Divya Jyothi for the course; the registration fee for the course is free. Refundable deposit, Rs. 1000. Accommodation with food is available on a free of cost. About Divya Jyothi Divya Jyothi is a registered Charitable Trust formed in 2010. Braille Library to provide educational and general books in Braille and audio CD to the students with visual impairment II.
