Hi,

I am sharing a piece of information with regard to a query by Silpa
Mallipeddi on chrome accessibility. I have purposely changed the subject
line to open this thread on ChromeVox.


This is for exploration and information purpose. Those who have explored
more can write their views and experiences on this. I have explored a bit.
 I tired with ChromeVox 1.26.0 extension on Google chrome.
ChromeVox

ChromeVox is a screen reader for Chrome.

One can use it on Windows or Mac PC with Google chrome browser as an add-on
or with Chrome operating system it is in-built. ChromeVox works with your
existing screen reader.

It has good female TTS voice.

Once installed extensions it starts when you launch Google chrome
Some quick reference keystrokes are

Control + alt are your ChromeVox keys.

Control + alt + down arrow – for page navigation by paragraph (object level)

Control + alt + equals – to change by character, word or paragraph (to
change object level).

Has jump commands - Control + alt + n or p and then followed by jump by
heading then press h, by link press l, etc.

Use of sticky mode – press insert key twice to activate and deactivate.

To deactivate it press control + alt + A twice.

For Disabling ChromeVox

Open Chrome menu (alt + f) and select "Tools", then "Extensions". Look for
ChromeVox in your list of installed extensions and uncheck the Enabled
checkbox.


You can turn ChromeVox off at any time by opening the Chrome wrench menu
and selecting "Tools", then "Extensions". Look for ChromeVox in your list
of installed extensions and uncheck the Enabled checkbox.
