The need for mainstreaming differently-abled people was highlighted on
the second day of the National Conclave on Road Safety and Traffic
Management for Disabled Pedestrians here on Friday.

The four-day conclave is being organised by the Society for Disability
and Rehabilitation Studies and the Social Action and Research
Foundation to create awareness about the problems faced by
differently-abled pedestrians.

Honorary secretary of the society G.N. Karna said among the speakers
were scientists and professors from IIT and JNU. They advocated the
use of assistive technologies to help in mobility and accessibility.
