Foundation Course in Computers and Employability for Persons with Vision Impairment 2024-2025.
We are delighted to announce that Prerana Educational Centre a project of North Bengal Council for Disabled in collaboration with Enable India, is commencing a six-month Foundation Course in Computers and Employability specifically designed for individuals with vision impairment. This course is designed to empower participants with essential skills that will enhance their computer literacy, mobility, life skills, English communication, and employability prospects, enabling them to lead an independent and dignified life. Course Details: Coarse name: Foundation Course in Computers and Employability Duration: 6 months Start date: 17/06/2024 End date: 27/12/2024 Timings: 9:30 am to 6:00 pm (Monday to Saturday) Venue: Prerana Educational Centre, Siliguri west Bengal Please note: No occasional leaves will be granted during the course period. Food and accommodation will provide by Prerana Educational centre Course Criteria: 1.Age: Not exceeding 40 years. 2.Education Qualification: Minimum Graduation and above. 3.Disability: Individuals with vision impairment Subjects Covered: Computer Skills: Fundamental computer operations, basics of Microsoft Word and Excel, internet usage including web browsing and managing Gmail. Mobility Training: Various cane techniques, seamless navigation of narrow spaces, and sound localization skills development. Volunteer Activity: Exposure to activities such as mall visits, independent bus and train journeys, teaching signature guides, role model sessions, and gaming activities, among others. Life Skills: Personal growth and success, including time management, problem-solving, decision-making, stress management, and interpersonal skills. English Communication Skills: Enhancement of speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities to confidently engage in everyday conversations and interactions. Employability Skills: Essential employability skills such as handling responsibilities, note-taking, goal setting, building a learning bank, and fostering trust within a team. Participants will be awarded certificates upon successful completion of the course with the required attendance.
