I have already done things suggested by you. My pop ups are already
blocked and basic view is already set as default. In spite of this
pop ups come and they are only from firefox. They come only on my
desktop pc where windows xp is installed. On my laptop where windows
7 is installed
here's the permanent solution for your 1st question. follow the steps
press control+shift+A to go to ad on manager. in search ad on box,
write adblock and press enter
after 2 3 seconds it will show u the list of ad ons. from that list,
find adblock plus. press applications key and enter on install.

I am using firefox 20 on my desktop with xp operating system. But
everytime I open any website, particularly gmail it opens some
advertisement page even when I open a new mail. It's very annoying.
Can we stop this? Pls explain in detail.
