Mumbai Blind Friends: please share your practical experience of obtaining disability certificate from J.J. Hospital without any contacts. Following questions I have:
1. I already have an old format certificate issued in 2012 from Rajasthan, but people in Mumbai are (including the NGOs working for blind) for issuing anything are increasingly asking for J.J. certificate and arguing with them about the nationality of it is getting difficult. Question: is it possible to get the certificate in the new format by showing them the old one or will that increase procedural complexities for me such as asking me to get a verification letter from Rajasthan amongst others? 2. How many visits one is required to make to get it? I have heard mixed reactions of the people on this. 3. Heard from some people that they insist for a letter from a NGO for people who are not domiciled in Maharashtra to issue the disability certificate. I have not been able to find out as to which NGO would give me such a letter. Lastly, if anyone has any sensible contact in the eye-department then please message me, I just hate this disability certificate procedure and don't want to see things getting repeated here like in Rajasthan on the procedural front.
