both softwares mentioned by you are specially designed to suit the
needs of VI persons in the context of handling OCR needs. it is
difficult to say that which is the good scanning software between the
two because each has its own features and specialities.

accessibility is concerned, i find both the versions i.e. fine reader
8 and 10 are fine.

There have been significant improvements in recognition accuracy between
fine reader v8 and fine reader v10 so go for v10.
To answer your earlier question about scanning applications, comparing
programs like Kurzweil and Fine Reader is like comparing apples to oranges.
