irrespective of many new types of scanners, flatbed scanners which you
mentioned as your 1990 memories are the best even today. You will get
a lot better accuracy of OCR text in flatbed scanner comparing to snap
camera based scanners. Better to buy a flatbed scanner with good speed
of scanning.

I get the drift. You are dealing with books that are not in the main stream
hence you need to access paper copies.
