you solved one mystery at least! thank you so much. pressing the chr
button twice quickly does seem to solve my problem when in a sms
message editor. Now if someone could only solve the mystery of smiley
faces or emoticons not being correctly red!

while e5 does behave that way in reading smses, however, pressing the
chr key twice should lead you to a list that would be readable. as
regards reading the inserted symbols in smses, it behaves the same way
whether someone sends a message to you or you message someone else.

I'm using the latest talks premium with my nokia e5 handset. i am
facing an unusuall problem. when i am in my sms message editor, and
bring up the chr dialog box to insert special characters, like % sign
or the $ sign it doesnt read out the dialog box to me. similarly it
doesnt read out
