Dear All, We are happy to share the news that the XRCVC has issued its research report "Banking on Accessibility - A case for accessible banking for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)". This report was necessitated given the multiple problems persons with disabilities regularly face when it comes to banking.
This report is a comprehensive document that can be used by regulatory and governance authorities like the Reserve Bank of India, banks, other associated bodies, decision makers and policy experts. It shall aid them in monitoring and evaluation of existing guidelines and the level of their implementation in reality. It articulates banking problems faced by users and makes strong recommendations to improve the scenario. The scope of the report is largely focused on infringement of rights of persons with visual impairment who use or propose to use banking facilities. It can be downloaded from the following link http://www.xrcvc.org/docs/Banking%20on%20Accessibility%20by%20XRCVC%20June%202022.pdf<https://prolinks.rediffmailpro.com/cgi-bin/prored.cgi?red=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.xrcvc.org%2Fdocs%2FBanking%2520on%2520Accessibility%2520by%2520XRCVC%2520June%25202022.pdf&isImage=0&BlockImage=0&rediffng=0> We will be following up on its findings and recommendations as part of our advocacy initiative to build financial inclusion.
